Sunderland have completed the signing of Charis Mavrias from Panathinaikos for a fee in the region of £2.5million.
The 19-year-old has been a target of Paulo Di Canio all summer and arrived in Wearside on Wednesday evening to discuss personal terms.
The final touches of the transfer were completed on Thursday, with the Greece international putting pen-to-paper on a three-year-deal.
Mavrias became the second youngest player ever to play in the Champions League when he made his Panathinaikos debut as a 16-year-old in 2010.
He has since gone on to make 70 appearances for the Greek side as well as earning two full caps for the Greece national team.
He becomes Sunderland's 11th signing of the summer, following the likes of Jozy Altidore, Emanuele Giaccherini, Modibo Diakite and Vito Mannone into the Stadium Of Light.
