Hull boss Steve Bruce has revealed that a deal to take Sunderland striker Danny Graham on a season-long loan is nearing completion.
Graham met with Tigers officials on Wednesday to discuss a possible move to the Premier League newcomers, and Bruce is confident that an agreement can be thrashed out before the weekend.
The 27-year-old has struggled to make an impact at the Stadium of Light since joining the Black Cats from Swansea in the January transfer window, and a switch away from Wearside could be in the best interest of all parties.
Bruce told the Hull Daily Mail: "We're very close and we're hopeful we can get it done before the weekend. It looks as though there's a deal to be done with Sunderland and that's now in the hands of our chief executive.
"All the talks have been encouraging but we'll have to wait and see now. We hope we can get something done soon.
"As I've admitted, he's a player I like and it would be a big boost to our squad to have someone like Danny join."
