Defender John Souttar is considering his next move after Dundee United accepted an improved offer from Sunderland for the teenager.
The Black Cats have now increased their offer for the youngster to £600,000 with a significant sell-on clause for the defender if he were to move on in the future.
After making his debut north of the border back in January, Souttar has made 14 first-team appearances for the Terrors and has impressed enough in those to have plenty of clubs interested in him.
But with Dundee United ready to cash in, Sunderland have moved into pole position by agreeing a fee, although they would have to wait until the transfer window re-opens in January before they can finalise the deal and that could lead to other interested parties making moves.
