New Sunderland boss Paolo Di Canio has admitted he already has one eye on his side's big upcoming clash with local rivals Newcastle.
The Black Cats boss will take his side to St James' Park a week on Sunday for the big north-east showdown as he looks to secure the club's top-flight status in the matches that remain.
The Italian has been keen to talk about taking things a game at a time but knows the huge local clash is looming after his first match in charge at Chelsea this weekend.
"I know what it means to play a derby, especially in this area," he said. "The passion and the desire to beat the sworn enemies.
"After the Chelsea game finishes, we will think about the derby which counts for a 1,000 games."
The Italian added in the Sunderland Echo: "But we have to think step by step. We have to think that by May 19 we will be celebrating because this club is still in the Premier League."
