Diouf having Sunderland medical

Bolton striker El-Hadji Diouf is undergoing a medical at Sunderland as he closes in on a switch to the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland made an offer for the want-away striker over the weekend and Wanderers boss Gary Megson has reluctantly accepted the bid, thought to be in the region of £2.5million.

The player now just has to agree personal terms and pass a medical before completing his move and that could happen by the close of play on Monday.

Bolton have lined up Levante forward Mustapha Riga as a replacement and a deal is also close to going through after he jetted into England for talks over the weekend.
