Skipper Lee Cattermole is said to be a target for both Cardiff and Hull as he looks to be surplus to requirements at Sunderland.
Reports towards the end of last week claimed that the midfielder's friends had revealed he was no longer wanted at the club and free to leave as Paolo Di Canio plots a new beginning for the Black Cats.
Both Cardiff and Hull are looking at the skipper with former boss Steve Bruce said to be favourite at Hull to take him, while the Tigers are also set to pounce for Ahmed Elmohamady.
Stephane Sessegnon and defender Phil Bardsley are also thought to be surplus to requirements and they too could be on their way out of the Stadium of Light.
