Sunderland will sell Anton Ferdinand to Tottenham to help fund a £12m double raid for Maynor Figueroa and Adam Johnson.

Black Cats boss Steve Bruce is keen to sign new players in the January transfer window but he does not want a huge squad and that means some of his current players could be on the move.

One such player is Ferdinand who has struggled at the Stadium of Light and could return to London as Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has been showing an interest for some time.

Whatever money Bruce receives for the defender will go straight into his transfer kitty as he lines up a double swoop for Wigan defender Figueroa and Middlesbrough winger Johnson, who are his top targets.
