Giaccherini keen to stay - Agent

Emanuele Giaccherini's agent says claims the Italian will join Galatasaray are an "invention" and he's happy to stay at Sunderland.

The midfielder's agent, Furio Valcareggi, has moved quickly to dispel talk that the 29-year-old wants out of the Stadium if Light this summer.

Reports had suggested he was set to join Turkish giants Gala but that does not appear to be the case.

Giaccherini started just 16 Premier League games for the Black Cats last season following his £7.5million summer move, after suffering with a few niggling injuries and a loss of form but the former Cesena man is keen to stay and prove his worth.

"Giaccherini wants to stay at Sunderland a lot and stay in the team," the Shields Gazette quotes Valcareggi as saying.

"He hopes to have fewer difficulties than last season. The talk about Galatasaray is an invention."
