Dutch club Heerenveen insist they have had no contact from Sunderland over reported summer strike target Alfred Finnbogason.
The 24-year-old has been on fire in his debut season in Holland, scoring 28 goals in 30 games for Heerenveen.
That has led to interest from several Premier League clubs, with Sunderland reportedly sending chief scout Bryan 'Pop' Robson to watch him in action against Ajax at the weekend. The Icelandic ace impressed, scoring in a 1-1 draw, and now the Black Cats are said to be lining up a summer bid for the forward.
However, Heerenveen technical director Johan Hansma says they have not had contact from any clubs although there is considerable interest in Finnbogason.
He told Voetbal International: "We have not been contacted by any club yet for Alfred, but we understand he is in the spotlight."
Everton, Aston Villa and West Ham have all also been credited with an interest in the striker.
