Sunderland are being linked with a move for Celtic star Efe Ambrose but face a battle with Swansea and Liverpool for his signature.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon could lose both Victor Wanyama and Gary Hooper to clubs in the English Premier League this summer and now reports claim that Ambrose is also in demand.

The Nigerian had a nightmare in the 3-0 defeat to Juventus but bounced back well and grabbed a goal in the 6-2 win over Dundee United at the weekend.

Former Hoops boss Martin O'Neill is keen to take him to Sunderland in the summer and Lennon has admitted a number of clubs are tracking the versatile star.
