Sunderland's new director of football Roberto De Fanti is apparently considering a move for Siena midfielder Alessandro Rosina.
The former Italian international netted five goals in 31 appearances for Siena last season and is now being linked with a switch to Wearside where De Fanti, who has been joined by Valentino Angeloni as chief scout, is now in situ.
The Italian connection at Sunderland is on the increase and would grow more if they do sign Rosina who is seen as a possible replacement for Stephane Sessegnon, who could be joining what is expected to be a large group of players heading for the exit at the Stadium of Light.
