Keane targets Euro swoops

SunderlandSunderland are ready to turn to the continent to sign new players after Stephen Hunt committed his future to Reading.

Black Cats boss Roy Keane has had a hectic couple of weeks when signing El-Hadji Diouf, Teemu Tainio, Steed Malbranque and Pascal Chimbonda but he still wants two more.

Keane is known to want Hunt but the player says he is willing to stay with Reading and wants to help the Royals back into the Premiership.

"There has been a lot of speculation but that's all it is," Hunt said. "I want to get back in the Premier League, but if I stay here then I will work my butt off to get Reading back in the top flight.

"There are boundaries you can cross to get out of a football club, but I won't step over that line. I am not looking to cause trouble, I will just work hard. I live in a great area and I get paid well to do a job I love. It's a great life."

Keane is now ready to look abroad with Croatia striker Mladen Petric and giant Serbian target man Nikola Zigic on his list of targets.
