Sunderland boss Roy Keane is hoping to make one more signing, possibly a left-back, before the transfer window closes.
Keane took his number of signings for the summer to nine when he wrapped up a deal for Anton Ferdinand from West Ham but there may be time to conclude one more before the window closes.
A new left-back is known to be on Keane's wanted list after he failed to sign Nicky Shorey from Reading, while Leighton Baines at Everton is also known to be a target.
Keane still has cash in the coffers and it looks as though he is preparing one final dip into the transfer market.
