New Sunderland signing Jozy Altidore insists he is excited to return to the Premier League after agreeing a move from AZ Alkmaar.
Altidore penned a four-year deal with Paolo Di Canio's side on Tuesday as the North-East club look to ensure they avoid a relegation scrap once again.
The American admits that he did not enjoy the best of times during his last stint in the Premier League - while on loan with Hull City - scoring just once in 28 appearances.
The former New York Red Bulls man will now head to Italy to join up with his new team-mates as they continue their pre-season tour.
Altidore said: "I'm excited; anybody that knows anything about football knows that the Barclays Premier League, when you look at everything as a full package, is the biggest league in the world.
"I'm thrilled to be here and I'm looking forward to getting adjusted as quickly as possible.
"It's a fantastic club, everyone here is so welcoming, I'm really excited about this season - it has everything here, all the combinations to be a big club so I'm really excited to be a part of it."
