Rose set for return

Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill will be able to call on fit-again defender Danny Rose for the clash with Norwich this weekend.

Rose has recovered from the hamstring injury that saw him return to his parent club Spurs after he came on as a substitute last week in the defeat at QPR, and he is now looking for a return to the starting line-up at home to Norwich.

Sunderland will again be without skipper Lee Cattermole in midfield while Wes Brown is out for the remainder of the campaign.

Target man Connor Wickham is back in contention for the hosts after returning from his loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday, but is unlikely to displace either Danny Graham or Steven Fletcher at the tip of the attack.

The Black Cats currently sit in 15th place, just six points above the drop zone, and after a poor run of results that has seen them lose four out of their last five, the Wearsiders are in danger of becoming relegation candidates.
