Sunderland striker Louis Saha is ready to step up to the plate and take on his former club Fulham this weekend.

The France striker is likely to get the nod to lead the line if top scorer Steven Fletcher fails a late fitness test with a calf injury but Saha is confident he can make the most of his opportunity if called upon.

Saha told the Echo: "We'll see what happens (with Fletcher's injury).

"I'm working hard every week, that's what training is for to make sure everyone is ready when they get their chance."
