Sunderland have confirmed Vito Mannone has joined the club from Arsenal for an undisclosed fee on a two-year contract.
Following the sale of Simon Mignolet to Liverpool, Paolo Di Canio has been looking to bring in a new man as cover for Keiren Westwood.
The Black Cats have now tied up a deal for Italian shot stopper Mannone, who had found himself behind Wojciech Szczesny and Lukasz Fabianski at the Emirates Stadium.
The 25-year-old, who joined Arsenal from Atalanta as a teenager in 2005, made 13 appearances last season for the Gunners.
Mannone is Sunderland's sixth signing of the summer and will now join up with the rest of the squad ahead of the trip to Italy for pre-season training.
