Sunderland in keeper talks

Sunderland are said to be in talks over a move for QPR keeper Julio Cesar, who could join on loan until the end of the season.

The 34-year-old is expected to be in the Brazil squad for next summer's World Cup but he is not playing in the Championship at the moment and he will need to get back out on the pitch soon despite assurances from Brazil coach Phil Scolari that he is part of his plans regardless.

There has been interest from across Europe but no offers have come in and now he is said to be in discussions with Gus Poyet, who could decide to take him on loan or on a free transfer in the new year.
