Sunderland boss Paolo Di Canio is reportedly planning a move for Aston Villa striker Andreas Weimann.
Di Canio wants to make significant changes to the squad at the Stadium of Light over the summer after the club narrowly avoided the drop last term and the Italian has set his sights on Villa forward Weimann.
The 21-year-old has entered the final year of his deal at Villa Park but the Midlands club are keen to keep hold of the Austrian attacker.
If Weimann decides against signing a new deal with Villa then Di Canio is ready to make a move, but the Sunderland boss will face competition from Premier League rivals Newcastle and Norwich if it becomes clear the forward is set to leave Aston Villa in the transfer window.
