Sunderland are unlikely to be able to call on Connor Wickham for the clash with Stoke on Monday as he is still suffering with injury.
The England Under-21 striker picked up a calf problem which has kept him out of the side for the past three games and although he is making progress, he is unlikely to be fit for the home clash with Stoke.
Stephane Sessegnon will find out on Wednesday afternoon whether his appeal against his red card on Monday has been successful but if it hasn't, he will miss the final three games of the season.
That would see Paolo Di Canio short of options up front with top scorer Steven Fletcher out for the season, leaving Danny Graham as the only recognised frontman available for the final three games and he is yet to score after signing in January.
