Danny Graham will not be joining Middlesbrough as Sunderland remain favourites to land the Swansea striker before the deadline.

Sunderland have been in the box seat to land the striker but his former club Middlesbrough looked to have thrown a spanner in the works by making a move on Thursday morning.

However, Graham's agent has confirmed that his player will not be moving back to the Riverside Stadium despite the fee being agreed and Sunderland remain favourites to land him ahead of Norwich, who are also linked, as well as Stoke and Reading.

Swans boss Michael Laudrup is in no rush to lose the former Watford frontman, and said earlier this week that he wanted him to stay but with Graham looking to move on, Swansea are looking for replacements.

Stoke striker Kenwyne Jones is the player Laudrup wants but that move is on hold until Graham completes his switch to the Stadium of Light.
