Boss reveals Pintado price tag

SwanseaRoberto Martinez feels Swansea's £70,000 summer signing from Granada, Gorka Pintado, could now be worth around £7million.

The Swans boss has been delighted with the 30-year-old Spanish striker, who scored his second goal in three substitute appearances as he helped Swansea to a 2-1 Carling Cup extra-time victory over Hull City on Tuesday.

And Martinez feels in the inflated British transfer market Pintado could be valued significantly higher than what he paid.

He told the South Wales Evening Post: "When you look at the other strikers who have been moving around, you are talking about Gorka being worth between £4million, £5million, £6million and £7million.

"Gorka is the type of striker that is the hardest to find and that's the value in the British market.

"We are delighted that we have got him, that his best years are ahead of him and that he will be a Swansea City player for a long time to come."
