Cats fail with defender bid

Last Updated: Mon, 16 Jun 2014 17:03

Swansea are understood to have rejected a £4million bid from Sunderland for star defender Ashley Williams.

The future of Williams remains up in the air while the Swans attempt to get him tied down to a new deal and in the meantime a host of rival clubs are keen.

It would now appear that Sunderland have shown their hand by making Swansea a £4million offer, which is short of the club's valuation and has been knocked back.

Swansea are hopeful of securing his future, but until they do, the rumours will continue to mount.
