Jonathan de Guzman is ready to sign on a permanent basis with Swansea after admitting he is very happy at the club.

The midfielder has initially arrived from Villarreal on a season-long loan but he is already looking more long-term after settling in well at the Liberty Stadium since his move.

De Guzman has played a pivotal role in central midfield as the Swans have got the season off to an impressive start and he is delighted to part of a side that also does it in style.

"Swansea are a great team, I think we play attractive football," the talented Dutchman revealed. "We get compliments from outside and I'm happy to be here."

"This is a new beginning for us," said de Guzman. "Every week we grow as a team. We still have a lot to work on, but we've done well so far. We're starting to mould as a group. I think we complement each other with the way we play.

"The more we play together the better we'll get."

Swansea have the option to take him on a permanent basis and boss Michael Laudrup is sure to pursue it when the time is right.
