Everton linked with Swansea defender

Swansea defender Ben Davies is continuing to be linked with a January move to Everton as a potential replacement for Leighton Baines.

Everton have been mentioned as possible suitors of the Swans' full-back in recent weeks and the link has resurfaced as we edge towards the opening of the January transfer window.

The 20-year-old has impressed this season as he attempts to establish himself in the Premier League and has apparently caught the eye of Everton boss Roberto Martinez, who remembers the youngster from his time at Swansea when the player was rising through the ranks.

Davies is reportedly viewed as the ideal replacement for Baines at Goodison Park if the England international finally seals a move away from the Merseysiders in the new year.

Baines is wanted by Manchester United, but a move to Old Trafford failed to go through in the summer despite David Moyes returning to his old club with several bids for the left-back.
