Arsenal could turn to Seville central defender Fazio if they fail to land Ashley Williams from Swansea in the summer.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is keen to bring in at least one central defender in the close season and Swans defender Williams is said to be his number one target.
There had been talk that Arsenal had already agreed a £12million fee for Williams, but this has been denied by the Swans, who will fight hard to keep the player, who is also interesting Liverpool.
If Swansea do manage to rebuff all offers then Wenger could turn to Fazio once again after failing with a £5.5million deal to land the Argentina ace back in 2009.
Seville are reported to be struggling for cash and are ready to listen to offers for the 26-year-old, who stands at 6ft 5in and could be just what Wenger needs.
