Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins says Wigan have been in contact about Jason Scotland, but insists Latics have not bid for the striker.
The Trinidad and Tobago international worked under Roberto Martinez at the Liberty Stadium and the new Latics boss is keen to team up with the player again at the DW Stadium.
Informal talks have taken place over a possible deal for Scotland, who has scored 45 league goals in 82 starts for the Swans, but Wigan do face competition from Burnley, who have also expressed their interest.
Jenkins told the South Wales Evening Post: "I have had a chat with Wigan about Jason Scotland.
"They have not made an offer, but they have asked to be kept informed of Jason's situation."
