Chico Flores has been ruled out of the Capital One final against Bradford City but Swansea have confirmed that Gerhard Tremmel starts.
The Spanish centre-back, who ruptured ankle ligaments in the Swans' 4-1 win over QPR a fortnight ago, had been for treatment in Barcelona in a bid to make it back in record time.
But boss Michael Laudrup has revealed that he has been unable to shake off the injury after attempting to persuade the Dane of his fitness.
Laudrup said: "He tried to go out and do something on the training ground today but it was much too early. We all knew that really.
"We are talking about an injury which normally keeps you out for four to eight weeks, and it is only two weeks since he got injured.
"We tried everything, but we realise it's too soon."
Flores said on Twitter he was training on the beach early this morning, tweeting: "I want to be at Wembley !!!"
Laudrup confirmed there are no other injury worries. Wayne Routledge has been ill but should be fit for Wembley while Tremmel gets the nod over Michel Vorm to start against the Bantams.
