Laudrup to snub Spurs - Wieghorst

Last Updated: Fri, 20 Dec 2013 07:56

Swansea assistant manager Morten Wieghorst says Michael Laudrup will not be leaving the club to take over at Tottenham.

Spurs are on the look out for a new boss following the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas this week and Laudrup is reported to be on their short list as they look to make a quick appointment.

Laudrup has always spoken of his desire to at least see this season out with the Swans and now his number two Wieghorst also says the Dane is committed to the club.

"I don't think the club should be worried," Wieghorst said. "We've seen in his time here he's been linked with a few vacant jobs and he's said: 'I'm staying'.

"Michael has always attracted interest and that's because he's doing a great job [and] because he's a great manager and because of what he's done in the game."
