Swans ace steps up comeback

Swansea goalkeeper Michel Vorm is targeting a speedy return to action but says he will only play again once he is fully fit.

The Dutchman is out of the side after suffering a groin injury in the 1-0 defeat to Manchester City and it is looking as though it will be Christmas time before he is back available.

Vorm was in fine form before he picked up the injury and, although he is keen to get back fit as soon as possible, he does not want to rush it just in case he suffers a setback that keeps him out for longer.

"My rehabilitation is going well. I couldn't walk normally last week, but now I'm OK and the bruise is slowly going," the Dutchman revealed. "I've been doing a lot of work in the gym to keep my strength up and the blood flowing.

"I'm determined to heal quickly and strongly. I'm desperate to come back, but I know I can't rush it. I'd rather be one week later than a week too early and it goes again."

Thankfully for Swansea, Gerhard Tremmel has stepped in and done a fine job but Michael Laudrup will still be hoping Vorm returns sooner rather than later.
