Swansea are reported to be back in the hunt for Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis, who could be on the move in January.
The Swans were keen to sign the striker in the summer but a deal failed to materialise and boss Michael Laudrup instead signed Wilfried Bony in a club record deal.
However, Gomis could be available for a cut-price fee in the new year as he is due to fall out of contract with Lyon at the end of the season and has no intention of signing a new one.
Lyon could opt to cash in rather than risk losing him for nothing, news that is sure to alert Swansea, Cardiff and Newcastle, who were all tracking him before the last deadline.
Much will depend on how Swansea are performing but if the club are still in the Europa League, Laudrup may decide that more firepower is needed and a swoop could be on the cards.
