Swansea will step up their attempts to secure the future of defender Ashley Williams now chairman Huw Jenkins is back from holiday.

Williams has 12 months remaining on his current deal but he has yet to put pen-to-paper on fresh terms and while that remains the case, speculation will continue to rumble regards his future.

Reports have suggested Sunderland are ready to bid £4million for the Wales international, while there is also interest from Hull, Queens Park Rangers, Arsenal and Liverpool.

Despite all the interest, it is thought Williams would prefer to stay at the Liberty Stadium, but Swansea will have to offer him a big enough deal before he will sign.

Williams will soon be 30 and it could be his last chance for a bumper deal so Swansea will have to get the chequebook out.

enkins is now back from holiday and securing the future of Williams is likely to be at the top of a very long 'to do' list.
