Swansea turned down a late effort on Monday from Wigan to sign Leon Britton on loan until the end of the season according to reports.

Former boss Roberto Martinez attempted to land the 27-year-old on loan until the end of the season when his contract at Swansea runs out.

Swans chairman Huw Jenkins was said to be in lengthy talks on Monday with Martinez over the player but managed to keep him and also turned down late offers from Nottingham Forest and Fulham for Darren Pratley and Angel Rangel respectively.
