Swans close on striker deal

Swansea look set to pip Hull City and Celtic to the signature of young Gambia striker Modou Barrow, in a deal worth £1.5million.

The 21-year-old has impressed in the Swedish second division when firing home nine goals in 18 games so far this season, and a host of clubs are keen to do a deal.

However Swansea are in the box seat after Ostersund chairman Daniel Kindberg revealed that the deal is all but done.

"It is a great achievement for Modou and of course for our entire club that a player goes to a team in the world's best soccer league, the Premier League. It is sensational," he said.

"There are many who speculate about how much this deal is worth to OFK. We will not comment on any of the content of the deal. It's part of the business agreement."

Barrow is set to undergo a medical, with reports suggesting the deal will be done and dusted by Thursday.
