Swans could go back in for Moreno

Swansea City could be back on the trail of Espanyol's Mexican centre-back Hector Moreno after Michael Laudrup's trip to Barcelona.

The Swans boss flew to the Catalan city last week amid speculation that Swansea are ready to resurrect their interest in the 27-year-old Espanyol star, who was targeted in the summer.

It may be purely coincidental that Moreno was in the city at the same time as Swans boss Laudrup - who failed to seal a deal for the £8million-rated defender in August.

The Mexican international was not called up for his country's World Cup qualifying playoff double header against New Zealand because the coach only chose home-based players.

Swansea faced competition from Cardiff City and Rubin Kazan for Moreno in the summer, but Swansea's south Wales rivals subsequently spent £8million on ex-Liberty Stadium loan man Steven Caulker.
