Swansea are reported to be lining up a move for Brighton boss Gus Poyet should Michael Laudrup be lured away in the summer.

The Swans are confident of keeping Laudrup at the Liberty Stadium until the end of his contract which still has just over a year to run, but there is still a chance he could be lured away if the big guns come knocking.

Laudrup insists he is happy and is looking forward to leading Swansea in Europe next season, but if Real Madrid do come knocking, the chance to replace Jose Mourinho may be too good to turn down.

City chairman Huw Jenkins believes Laudrup will stay but he still has one eye on a replacement should the worst happen, and Poyet is said to be his number one choice.

"We wouldn't be doing our jobs if we didn't have some idea of who will suit Swansea City," Jenkins revealed.

Poyet is reported to have turned down the Swansea job before Brendan Rodgers took charge back in 2010 as he had only just taken charge at Brighton but he could be interested now if the Seagulls do not win promotion to the Premier League.
