Swansea have missed out on the signing of striker Leo Baptistao, who has opted to stay in Spain with Atletico Madrid.
Swans boss Michael Laudrup had put the Rayo Vallecano frontman high on his wanted list as he looks to sign a new striker but will be disappointed as the 20-year-old has opted to join Atletico.
The Brazilian has joined Atletico for a fee in the region of £5million and it is another setback for Laudrup after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang revealed he would not be heading to the Liberty Stadium.
The Dane will now have to look elsewhere to bolster his attack with Wigan's Arouna Kone and Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku among the names on his wish list.
There is better news for Laudrup as top midfield target Alejandro Pozuelo has settled a contract dispute with his club Real Betis which should clear the way for a move to south Wales.
