Swansea are keen on Birmingham midfielder Nathan Redmond and could offer Kyle Bartley in part exchange.
Redmond was a revelation for Blues in the Championship last season and Norwich, Fulham and Crystal Palace have been linked with a swoop for the 19-year-old.
Swansea have been added to that list and reports claim boss Michael Laudrup hopes to steal a march on his rivals by offering Bartley as part of the deal.
Blues boss Lee Clarke is said to be a big fan of Bartley and that could make Swansea favourites if the Midlands outfit are forced to cash in on their star youngster.
Birmingham value the player in the region of £3million but they may have sell for less as he only has one year remaining on his contract at St Andrew's.
