Swansea have made a bid for £8million-rated Ajax striker Kolbeinn Sigthorsson after agreeing a fee for Twente's Luc Castaignos.
Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf claim the Swans have made an offer for the Iceland international forward, who has also been linked to Everton, Queens Park Rangers, Leicester City and West Ham.
Sigthorsson's 10 goals in 30 appearances for the Eredivisie champions last season have warranted an £8m price-tag from Ajax, who are willing to sell.
The 24-year-old cost just over £3m from AZ when he joined the Dutch champions in 2011 but he has not been as prolific as he was in Alkmaar.
The move for Sigthorsson could indicate a snag in the deal to sign Castaignos, although Twente were positive that it would go through earlier this week.
City are expected to lose Spanish forward Michu later this summer while there has been widespread interest in Wilfried Bony after his fine second half of the season.
