Swans track Hornets star

Last Updated: Wed, 11 Jun 2014 08:39

Swansea are among the clubs keeping tabs on Watford striker Troy Deeney as Garry Monk looks to bolster his attack.

The Swans boss is keen to sign a new striker to take some of the pressure off Wilfried Bony and Deeney has been suggested as a possible target following some impressive display for the Hornets.

Deeney is a proven goalscorer in the Championship after firing home over 20 goals in each of the last two seasons, and he is now primed to step up into the Premier League.

Watford would struggle to fend off any large bids for the 25-year-old striker and their resolve is sure to be tested over the coming weeks and months.

As well as Swansea, Newcastle and Aston Villa are also interested while Norwich, Fulham, Wigan and Nottingham Forest, who should all be pushing for promotion to the Premier League next season, are also keen.
