Swansea are working on a deal to bring Jonathan de Guzman back to the Liberty Stadium on loan for another season.
The Dutchman was a huge hit after spending last season with the Swans and it was hoped that a permanent deal would be hammered out with Spanish side Villarreal.
However, the £7million valuation of the player appears to be the sticking point and Swansea are now pursuing another season-long loan deal and are confident it will go through.
Chairman Huw Jenkins is continuing to talk with Villarreal and the player's agent and sounds optimistic over striking a deal.
"I have met with Jonathan's agent and he is comfortable with where we are at," said Jenkins. "Hopefully we can tie something up with Villarreal soon. We are optimistic about that happening."
