Robbie Keane has insisted he will return to Spurs when his loan move to Celtic expires at the end of the season.

The striker made the surprise switch to Parkhead on transfer deadline day and it has been suggested he could turn the move into a permanent one in the summer if he does well in the SPL.

However, the Republic of Ireland star says he has no long-term plans to stay at Celtic and, echoing the views of Spurs boss Harry Redknapp, Keane insists he will be back at White Hart Lane come the summer.

"I've been in the Premier League for a long time. I've done what I needed to do there. I'm here for a few months and obviously I'll be back there next season," the former Liverpool forward said on Sky Sports.

"I'm a person that needs to play all the time. I get better with games. The more games I get under my belt and the more 90 minutes I play, you'll see a sharper and fitter Robbie Keane."

The new recruit also says Tony Mowbray's side can still win the SPL title despite the fact they currently train Old Firm rivals Rangers by 10 points.

"I'm here to help the team and hopefully push on and challenge to win that title," he added.

"By no means is it going to be easy, but it's not impossible."
