Ajax coach aware of Spurs' interest

Frank de Boer's agent says the Ajax coach has been made aware of Spurs' interest but the Dutchman remains focused on his current job.

Spurs have been linked with a move as they search for a new manager after sacking Andre Villas-Boas on Monday.

The Dutchman's credentials make him a natural candidate for Tottenham as the former Ajax youth coach and Dutch assistant coach has now overseen three consecutive Eredivisie title wins and some famous European victories, including a memorable away win over AC Milan in his first match in charge, and home wins over Manchester City and Barcelona.

He has been installed as the favourite to replace Villas-Boas, although his agent has said that there has not been an official approach to Ajax.

Guido Albers told Voetbal International: "Through several channels it became clear to me that Spurs would have an interest. But the club did not came to Ajax. So from our point of view there's not much to say about it.

"Frank isn't even thinking about it. He's fully focusing on Ajax."
