Arshavin has said that he is still in the dark over his future and the club have refused to rule out the possibility that he could move away.
Zenit PR director Alexei Blinov told Sovietski Sport: "This decision was made by the coach.
"Does this mean that Andrei remains at Zenit? This is a question that is better directed at coach Dick Advocaat."
Arshavin could link up with fellow Russian forward Roman Pavlyuchenko who looks set to sign for the north London club.
