Andre Villas-Boas has declared an interest in Brazilian pair Leandro Damiao and Willian as he ponders January reinforcements.

Internacional striker Damiao, 23, impressed at the Olympics where he was the tournament's top scorer, while 24-year-old winger Willian, who Tottenham wanted to sign in the summer, has been one of the stars of Shakhtar Donetsk's Champions League campaign.

Both players have been linked with moves to the Premier League for the past 12 months and now Spurs appear to be stealing a march over other clubs keen on them, with AVB admitting both players are on his radar this month.

"We got in touch with Willian [in the summer] and he is one of the players that interests us," Villas-Boas told the Daily Mirror.

"I like his style, but we could not reach the value Shakhtar were asking. It does not mean we won't try again.

"Shakhtar are a difficult club to negotiate with as they do not need the money and can keep their players."

On Damiao, AVB added that he had been impressed with his performances for Brazil in the London Olympics as Spurs are set to line up a bid for the forward.

"For Damiao, he had a spectacular Olympics. We follow the best players and youngsters. Leandro fits this profile," the Tottenham boss added.

"He has had injuries after London 2012, but he is a player that is always on our list."
