Former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp claims Gareth Bale will stay at the club this summer because 'he loves life at Spurs'.

The 23-year-old Wales international, who has scored 11 goals in his last nine games, has been heavily linked with a summer switch from White Hart Lane as current reports claim Spanish giants Real Madrid will offer £30million plus former player Luka Modric in a bid to entice him to the Bernabeu.

However Redknapp, who played a key part in Bale's development as a player with the north Londoners before leaving the hotseat last summer, is adamant that the player is better off staying put.

And, he also claims that the former Southampton Academy product is not looking to leave Spurs, while Champions League qualification for next season would definitely ensure he remains with them.

"I'm absolutely sure Spurs is the best club for him and that he will stay," Redknapp said, according to the Sun. "He loves life at Spurs and with the club looking at another Champions League campaign next term why would he leave? I don't think that will happen.

"The boy is a dream to manage and he has been fantastic this season. He's almost unplayable when he's on his game."
