Danni Move could pave way for Arshavin exit

TottenhamZenit St Petersburg have agreed a deal to bring Danni to Zenit - allowing Andrei Arshavin to finally complete his move to Spurs.

The ex-Sporting Lisbon midfielder has been a long-term target for Zenit and it now looks as if they have agreed a price for the Dynamo Moscow man.

Danni has a similar playing style to current Zenit favourite Arshavin and it looks as if the arrival of Danni could pave the way for Arshavin to move on.

A host of Premier League clubs have been credited with an interest in the Russian playmaker but Spurs emerged as front-runners for the star of Euro 2008 and it now looks as if they will get their man.

Spurs boss Juande Ramos has had a difficult start to the season, seeing his side lose their opening two fixtures and facing the possibility of having to sell Dimitar Berbatov to Manchester United, but the arrival of Arshavin may go some way to easing the fears of the Tottenham faithful.

Should Berbatov move to Manchester United Spurs have also been linked with an £18million move for Ajax striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar.
