Tottenham are on the verge of selling Benoit Assou-Ekotto to Turkish side Fenerbahce and as a result will keep hold of Danny Rose.
Rose is seen as the better long-term prospect at White Hart Lane so he will stay, despite the fact that Sunderland wanted to buy him after he had a successful season-long loan period with them.
Fenerbahce, having already having lodged a firm expression of interest in Assou-Ekotto, look likely to get the green light to sign him after Spurs decided to allow him to leave.
Assou-Ekotto missed a large part of last season with injury so Rose is now seen as the future and will stay at the club.
