Tottenham look as though they are going to miss out on defender target Alvaro Pereira as he says he is happy at Inter Milan.
Spurs are thought to be in the market for a new left-back with doubts over the long-term future of Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Pereira had been strongly linked.
The Uruguay international worked with Andre Villas-Boas at Porto in their treble-winning season so he had been linked with Spurs but he does not want to leave Inter, according to his agent Flavio Perchman.
Speaking to Italian website TMW, he said: "I read so many stories about Tottenham, but personally I know nothing about it. He has a contract with Inter and intends to respect it.
"Talking about Alvaro's future is premature. We'll see what happens over the summer and I'll speak with both the player and the club to evaluate the situation.
"Walter Mazzarri knows him and what he can give to Inter. Napoli had already been tracking Pereira and Mazzarri knows him and what he can give to Inter from his time at Porto.
"We'll see if when the former Napoli coach arrives it will help the lad to provide more consistent performances."
