Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp says he wants Roman Pavlyuchenko to stay at White Hart Lane when the transfer window opens.
The Russian striker has repeatedly said he wants to leave Tottenham due to a lack of first-team football and clubs throughout Europe are known to be keen on him.
It was also thought that Redknapp would be happy to let him go but the Spurs boss insists that is not the case and says he would like to keep hold of the player.
"We've got a strong squad - and we've got Luka Modric to come back. There's more than enough strength in depth," Redknapp revealed. "I don't want to sell Roman Pavlyuchenko. Technically he's a fantastic talent but he keeps saying he wants to go.
"He's got great ability but he wants to play regularly but it's been difficult with (Jermain) Defoe, (Peter) Crouch and (Robbie) Keane all doing well. It's unlucky for him."
